The Future Drought Fund (FDF) is a key aspect of the Australian Government’s forward-looking drought policy, which provides a permanent and secure revenue source to build drought resilience.

The government will develop and publish a draft Drought Resilience Funding Plan.

The Future Drought Fund Consultative Committee will seek feedback from stakeholders across Australia on the draft funding plan.

This high level framework will ensure a coherent and consistent approach is undertaken when considering and providing funding for drought resilience projects.

Following a public consultation process, the funding plan is expected to be completed by February 2020.
